Here's The Story

Six sisters (Jen, Nicole, Katy, Allyn, Melissa & Makenzie) and their sainted Mother (Peggy) began this blog to share recipes with each other. Since we started, we've added two sisters, Claire and Lori. So, really, it's a Nine Bum Kitchen now. We live in five different states (Vermont, Utah, North Carolina, Virginia and Arizona) and between us (not including Mom) we have 35 children ranging in age from a few weeks to 28 years. So, right now we're all IN IT, if you know what I'm sayin'.

This blog is our way to share recipes with each other and to try to make each other laugh, which helps us feel like there isn't so much physical distance between us. Mom used to say that her kitchens (she's lived in a lot of homes all over the country) had only enough room for a certain number of bums. Truth. In the virtual world, though, we can fit all nine bums.

Update: Our precious Mom, Peggy Lee, passed away on April 17, 2021.
